Label Cardinality

Keep label counts low to avoid high-cardinality index bloat. Use log-line content filters (|=, |~) instead of dynamic labels where possible.

Grafana Loki is a horizontally scalable, highly available, multi-tenant log aggregation system. Unlike full-text search engines, Loki indexes only metadata (labels) and stores the raw log chunks compressed — making it extremely cost-efficient. All LXC containers ship their logs to Loki via Grafana Alloy agents, where they can be queried through Grafana using LogQL.
